Some young ladies that come to our church have a beautiful property just outside of town. They invited us to come over on Saturday afternoon and ride one of their horses.
None of the kids had ever ridden a horse so it was very exciting for them!
The horse we rode was a very gentle mare-perfect for kids to ride. She was seven months pregnant. Her one year old followed faithfully behind where ever she went.
I got so carried away taking pictures of Nate and Kris, and I didn't realize the camera battery was very low. So I didn't get any pictures of Brad or Ryan on the horse! Brad was very nervous (which shouldn't surprise anyone who knows him :)), but the horse was so gentle that he ended up enjoying it. I went on with Ryan and he told me enthusiastically that he loved it!

That would make my kids so jealous!! They love horses, although I think if they were ever up close to one they would be a lot more scared that they think. That looks like a fun outing for the kids.
How fun! Too bad there are no pictures of Ryan... I would love to see that. :)
What fun!! I love the pictures! I am so glad the Lord is blessing you with these experiences amidst all the work there! What a special time for your family! Miss you guys!! Its so funny how we never saw each other before, but now that you are half a world away it seems so strange!! I love you.

I can see why you were going crazy with the camera! What great pictures. Jeremy has talked about wanting a horse for a long time...Nate looks like quite a natural on his! Special times and memories for your family! It was really nice catching up on the phone this evening - we miss your fellowship!! May God bless you and keep you close to Him, Tracey
Hi Sharon,
Sorry I haven't been posting any comments here--I haven't been able to check your blog for awhile because I forgot that the address and was typing in shouts_of_joy instead of what it is supposed to be, so it was never coming up! Ooops! Anyways, happy birthday to Nate and Brad--I love the hats and the party looked well planned and fun! I love to look at all your pictures, lots of interesting things going on--like that day of the dead. How different! I guess Haloween is celebrating death too to a certain extent. It's funny how people try to block out death most of the time, and then spend a whole holiday celebrating it...
That's so neat that the kids could ride the horses. How do you know those girls? They didn't look like natives - do they go to your church?
It looks like a beautiful property, as you said! Was that Lia leading the horse Kris was on? You still haven't posted many pictures of the couples you're living with, so I wouldn't recognize them in a picture! I'm sure you're looking forward to mom and dad's arrival---I'm looking forward to seeing all your pictures from that. Love you all lots!
Wow, what a treat! Thanks for showing us those pictures. May the Lord continue to encourage you there... horses are such a beautiful display of His power & wisdom! Great you could enjoy them there!
